Semester II Final Examinations:
June 17 to June 24, 2010
Essential Information for Students
2. Approach your teacher for extra help if needed.
3. Arrive at your examination room 5-10 minutes before the examination is scheduled to begin. Morning exams begin at 9:00 am and afternoon exams begin at 1:00 pm
4. For each exam, bring all text(s) with you. The presiding teacher will have a list of assigned texts if they have not been returned yet. If you do not return the text assigned to you, your timetable for semester II may be withheld until you either return the text(s) or pay the cost.
5. Exams begin and end right on time. If you are late, go directly to the exam location. No additional time will be given to those who arrive late for examinations.
6. You will not be permitted to leave the examination room until after the first 75 minutes.
7. During the examination, all questions and requests are to be directed to the presiding teacher. Do not speak to other students while the exam is being written. It is important that you do not put yourself in a position that might necessitate your paper being confiscated. If you are suspected of cheating, are caught talking to another student, or are disruptive, you will be removed from the exam room by a Vice-Principal or Safety Monitor. You will receive a mark of zero for the exam.
8. Please leave the school building immediately after the completion of your examinations for the day. No students are allowed in the halls during the exam period!
9. If you miss an examination due to illness, you must submit a medical certificate to the main office within 48 hours of the missed examinations. (Example: A student who misses an exam at 9:00 on June 21 must have his or her doctor's note to the office by 9:00 on June 23.) The doctor's note/medical certificate must clearly state that you were incapable of writing the examination due to illness, and must include the date and time of the examination. Otherwise, you will receive an exam mark of zero. If your teacher and the administration feel that a make-up exam is appropriate in the situation, you may be requested to write a make-up exam on February 1, at 1:00 pm, or another date/time as decided by administration. Missed exams for reasons other than a medical will result in a mark of zero for the exam.
10. The cafeteria will be closed from June 17th - .
11. No food, other than bottled water, may be taken into the exam room.
12. No coats, hats, bags or cell phones are permitted in the room.
13. Students with IEPs are to contact their teacher, no later than June 16h so that extra time can be allocated.
14. All grade 10 Academic and Applied students must write the preliminary OSSLT exam on February 1st, 2010 at 9:00am
